Sherwood Area Community Alliance - Love Where You Live
The Sherwood Area Community Alliance is being relaunched as a voluntary, informal neighborhood group focused on connection, communication, and community pride. This document reintroduces the Alliance, explains what it is and is not, and outlines a simple plan for the months ahead.
What the Community Alliance Is:

A voluntary group of neighbors. A way to share information that affects our area. A platform for community events and gatherings. A point of coordination for neighborhood safety and awareness. A way to strengthen pride in where we live.

What the Community Alliance Is NOT:

Not an HOA. Not a governing body. Not an enforcement organization. Not a rule-making authority. There are no Alliance rules, no mandatory dues, and no enforcement powers. The only rules that apply are existing county ordinances and code enforcement standards.

Optional Dues and Donations:

To support community activities and basic operating costs, the Alliance offers optional dues or donations. Contributions are completely voluntary, not required for participation, and not tied to authority or special status.

Community Events:

The Alliance will bring back familiar neighborhood events while introducing new opportunities to gather. Planned events include a Valentine’s exchange, Easter activities, community garage sales, a Christmas golf cart parade, and the holiday luminary program with online ordering and delivery options. The Alliance will also host occasional community meetups and social gatherings. And we welcome any ideas for future events.

Community Safety and Awareness:

The Alliance supports neighborhood safety through communication and awareness, including sharing crime prevention and community watch information in coordination with the Brevard County Sheriff's Office.

Leadership and Structure:

The Alliance is intentionally informal. Donnie is stepping up as coordinator to serve as a point of contact, but there is no board, no enforcement role, and no governing authority. We can rotate through coordinators as needed, or as requested by the community.
