Sherwood Community Update: Holiday Events, Santa Run & Christmas Even Luminaries
The holiday season is quickly approaching, and the Sherwood Area Community Alliance is preparing for several exciting events and longstanding neighborhood traditions. From our Christmas Golf Cart Parade and annual Santa Run to the beautiful Christmas Eve luminary displays, there's plenty happening in Sherwood this December!
Here's a look at what's coming up and what residents need to know.
🎄 Christmas Golf Cart Parade — December 5th
Planning continues for the Sherwood Christmas Golf Cart Parade, scheduled for Saturday, December 5, 2026.
This year's event is shaping up to be more than just a parade! We're planning an afternoon and evening of holiday activities for residents and their families, including:
Food trucks offering food and refreshments
Local vendors participating in the festivities
Portable restrooms available for attendees
Christmas Golf Cart Parade featuring decorated golf carts traveling through the neighborhood
The parade planning committee will meet again next week to finalize additional details, including event logistics, parade routes, and other arrangements.
A more comprehensive update will follow that meeting.
For now, mark your calendars for Saturday, December 5th, and plan to join us for an afternoon and evening of holiday fun!
🎅 Annual Santa Run — December 19th
Santa Claus is coming back to Sherwood!
The Mims Volunteer Fire Department will once again bring Santa through the neighborhood for our annual Santa Run on Saturday, December 19, 2026, during the late afternoon and early evening.
This beloved tradition gives neighborhood children an opportunity to see Santa as he travels through our community aboard a fire department vehicle.
Additional information, including approximate times and instructions for tracking Santa's location throughout the neighborhood, will be shared as it becomes available.
We're grateful to the Mims Volunteer Fire Department for continuing this wonderful holiday tradition!
🕯️ Christmas Eve Luminaries — December 24th
One of Sherwood's most recognizable and cherished holiday traditions is returning this Christmas Eve!
Luminaries have officially been ordered, and the Alliance will soon announce ordering details and distribution arrangements.

Let's Light Up ALL of Sherwood This Christmas Eve!
We strongly encourage EVERY household in Sherwood to participate in this year's Christmas Eve luminary display!
Our neighborhood has developed a reputation throughout the surrounding area for its beautiful Christmas Eve luminaries. This longstanding tradition is something that makes Sherwood unique, bringing neighbors together and creating a memorable holiday experience for residents and visitors alike.
However, the beauty of this tradition depends on community participation.
When entire streets participate, the result is a beautiful, continuous display of holiday lights that transforms our neighborhood on Christmas Eve.
Our goal this year is simple: 100% neighborhood participation!
Whether you're a longtime resident or new to Sherwood, we encourage you to join your neighbors in keeping this wonderful tradition alive.
Luminaries should be displayed on Christmas Eve, Thursday, December 24th.
Please watch for our upcoming announcement with ordering instructions and additional details.
